(Vermeulen, 2014). This brief identifies seven priorities for action based on the findings of the Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. These include speeding up the pace of adaptation and mitigation, creative financing and insurance products to improve risk management and access to capital, and utilizing the value chain to deal with climate risks while securing affordable and nutritious food. It also identifies key knowledge gaps on climate change and food security such as climate risks to post-farming stages of food chains.
