As a leader in innovative and sustainable technologies, Japan is selected to host this year’s Asia Leadership Program on Sustainable Development and Climate Change (Asia Leadership Program 2015) on 2-7 March.
Launched in 2012, the Asia Leadership Program aims to convene emerging leaders to help design innovative solutions for climate change adaptation and mitigation and sustainable development, and integrate these into sector development strategies and policies and action plans both at the regional, national and local levels.
Asia Leadership Program 2015 will provide opportunities for dialogues with executives from Japan’s leading companies and sector utilities; discussions on innovative financing schemes on public-private partnerships and updates in energy, urban and transport sectors; and field visits on Japanese innovations in renewable energy, waste-to-energy conversion, and transport and rail systems.
This year’s program will also pilot the improved e-learning curriculum comprising e-modules that cover three themes: towards sustainable development, addressing climate change, and achieving sustainable development and dealing with climate change.
Asia Leadership Program 2015 is a joint undertaking by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Asian Development Bank Institute, Ministry of Environment Japan, and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies.
